What makes Childrens Lighthouse Schools different from other daycare businesses?

Traditionally, day care centers have focused primarily on providing care and play. Childrens Lighthouse was conceived to be education-focused, offering the nationally acclaimed Abeka curriculum that is approved by the American Academy of Colleges and Universities. Our values program provides additional substance to prepare children for successful elementary performance.

What are the minimum qualifications to become a Childrens Lighthouse franchisee?

The most successful Childrens Lighthouse franchise owners have a passion for children and have a desire to improve the lives of families and communities through early childhood education. Business and management experience is helpful, as is a willingness to get out in the community and build relationships with partners and customers.

The minimum net worth requirement of Childrens Lighthouse franchisees is $600,000, with the ability to have (or be able to obtain) liquidity of $200,000. Provided the prospective franchisee has a good credit score and history, Childrens Lighthouse provides assistance through several lenders (or any provided by the franchisee) to locate several types of financing. Childrens Lighthouse is listed on the SBA registry with a 0% loan failure rate, which translates to expedited processing.

How much money can I make?

Do I need experience in child care or education?

No prior experience in either field is required, our comprehensive training program will teach you about the industry and our operational model.

Does Childrens Lighthouse provide financing for its franchise owners?

Childrens Lighthouse can direct you toward third party financing sources that have worked successfully with many of our franchise owners.

What are your royalties?

Childrens Lighthouse has a 7% royalty fee. We do not have an advertising royalty, we strongly believe your advertising efforts should be directed by you in your local market.

What are the hours of operation?

Childrens Lighthouse franchises are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends.

What kind of training will I receive before my school opens?

Our franchise training consists of four weeks: two weeks of training at the Childrens Lighthouse home office, one week of in-school training with seasoned Childrens Lighthouse franchise owners and one week of post-opening training in your school.

What is the process for finding a location for my franchise?

The site selection process is a highly collaborative course of action between you, our national brokerage company and our internal real estate team. We have a detailed site selection manual that guides the project in a step-by-step manner.

How long does it take to open a school?

It is generally a 12 to 18 month timeframe between signing your Franchise Agreement and opening day at your school.
