Note from the Director

Dear Parents,

I know it's hard to believe, but school time is right around the corner. Be sure to sign up at the front desk if we will be transporting your child to/from school. We are preparing to start our curriculum here as well, and Open House will be held on August 18 from 7-8pm. This is a great opportunity for you to become acquainted with your child's new teacher, classroom and curriculum. We really hope you can make it! I also wanted to remind all School-Age parents that there will be no field trips during the week of the 16th as we are preparing to go back to school. Thank you again for all of your support...you are the reason why we have had such a successful summer!

Classroom News

Infants

August's theme is "Open and Close". Our nursery rhyme this month is "Pat-a-Cake", baby sign is "Diaper", song is "Good Morning to You", color is blue and our shape is oval. We would like to welcome Carly, Audrey, Joseph and Gage to Room 1, and Room 2 would like to welcome Cooper, Nalanie and Jake!

Toddlers

This August, we are learning all about "Big Animals". We will be reinforcing this by doing many theme related activities and art projects. Our nursery rhyme this month is "Pat-a-Cake", baby sign is "Diaper", song is "Good Morning to You", colors are blue, and our shape is oval. Room 3 would like to welcome Alana and Maximus to the Toddler 1 class, and Room 4 woud like to extend a warm welcome to Taylor who is our newest addition to our class.

2's - 5's/School Age

The weekly themes for the month of August are: Arizona, Kansas & Oregon, California, and Texas. We will be doing many fun activities to reinforce these themes and make our "Summer Reality Journey through the United States" one to remember! We are also very excited to say that we are ready for our A Beka curriculum to begin the week of August 23.

The last week for field trips will be the week of August 9.

On these days, it is very important to remember your ORANGE Childrens Lighthouse shirt, backpack and water bottle.

Kindergarten children will be taking a field trip to Pizza Inn, as well as participating in our yearly Scavenger Hunt.

School-Aged children will be taking field trips to the Keller Natatorium every Tuesday (ending August 10). They will also be visiting Pizza Inn, and participating in our yearly Kidz Rock competition.
